The Benchmade Hunt Series 15017 Hidden Canyon Hunter is a small-framed fixed blade built for precision cutting tasks while being big enough to be effective on big game and small. The full tang, drop point CPM-S30V blade excels at processing game and is a useful utility knife for basic field and campsite tasks. Stabilized wood handles offers modern performance with a classic look and feel. Improvements included adjusted jimping location, enhanced ergonomics and blade profile and an updated molded sheath design for enhanced retention.

Blade: Stonewashed CPM-S30V has a high saber grind for balanced cutting performance and durability while a small choil makes for easy sharpening. The utilitarian drop point profile and sweeping belly are excellent for skinning and game processing with a compact design suited for fine, precision cutting tasks. Two sections of jimping on the spine provide added traction: the rear section for the thumb in a saber grip and the forward for the index finger in a pinch grip.

Handle: Warm, comfortable, stabilized wood handles are durable and weather resistant. Attached to the full tang blade with black hardware, the scales are contoured for comfort and ergonomic use with ramps down to the blade for added comfort in a forward pinch grip. Compact and lightweight this design is well suited to backcountry use where every ounce counts. Wide jimping on the spine provides added traction in adverse conditions and a hole at the pommel provides a lanyard attachment point.

Carries via a molded, brown leather belt sheath with snap loop retention.

CPM-S30V: A powdered stainless steel with high levels of edge retention and corrosion resistance S30V was developed specifically for use in knife blades. The powdered process gives it a very refined grain, improving the sharpness and toughness. S30V is a great, all around steel with high levels of performance.
