When you’re looking for a good-sized camp knife, choosing a Jesper Voxnæs design is always a wise decision. You can’t go wrong with the Rold Black from Boker Plus knives. It provides a full tang of hard-working D2 tool steel, black powder coated with essential canvas micarta handle scales.Â
Brand new item direct from Boker Knives.
The Blade:Â A clip point design from Vox is excellent for just about any chore around camp. It has a sweet slicing drop, straight edge for chopping and utility plus a nice point for penetrating tasks. Full tang construction built out of tough D2 carbon steel that has solid edge retention for the outdoors. The entire surface has received a protective black traction coating that has light texture and should keep that carbon steel from corroding. There is a guard and forward choil for choking up on detailed tasks.Â
The Handle:Â Canvas micarta scales are secured via hollow pins over red fiber liners to the tang creating solid construction. The scales are a hair smaller leaving the tang ever so slightly exposed for a more solid feel in-hand. It’s ergonomic and comfortable in all the right places. Boker has attached a black lanyard to the bottom pin, but the two can easily come together with paracord of your choosing.Â
The Rold Black ships with a Kydex sheath and belt clip attachment.Â
