Another Joe Flowers (Bushcraft Global) design, the Cojang Jungle Machete was designed for maximum chopping performance while retaining good balance for extended use. Flowers, an avid bushcraft and survival instructor, was inspired by a traditional Indonesian sword and the Cojang has a definite sword like quality with its over 20″ blade and relatively narrow profile for a machete. Despite the overall size, the Cojang comes in at just over 1 5/8 pounds, including the sheath. The blade is forge finished 1075 carbon steel with a walnut wood handle.

Blade: At over 20 inches in length, the 5.5 mm full tang 1075 carbon steel blade is a chopping powerhouse. Saber ground with a distal taper to the tip, the blade offers more efficient cutting performance while retaining good durability. The blade has a forge finish on the flats and satin grinds and spine.

Handle: Built on a solid, full tang construction, three brass pins fix the contoured walnut wood scales to form the handle. The angled pommel is flared for added security and leverage when chopping, and features a cutout exposing the triangular lanyard hole. For more controlled chopping or finer cutting tasks, the straight portion of the handle can be used effectively.

Carries via a leather snap closure sheath with belt loop.

1075 Carbon Steel: A simple carbon steel used by production and custom knife makers. Low wear resistance (edge retention) due to low carbide content. Good toughness at lower hardness and easy to sharpen to a fine edge. Good performance when properly heat treated. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
