They make exceptional machetes in El Salvador built tough for heavy agricultural use harvesting coffee, sugar cane and cotton. This 18″ El Salvador pattern delivers excellent chopping performance against a variety of vegetation, from light grass to mid-sized saplings. The blade is black epoxy powder coated 1075 carbon steel with a black polypropylene handle and leather belt sheath.
Brand new from Condor Tool & Knife.
Blade: At under 3 mm, the 1075 carbon steel blade is durable and efficient thanks to the convex grind and forward weighted design for optimal chopping. A hole in the blade allows for levering cuts and keeping your tool off the ground during short breaks in use. Finished with a black epoxy powder coat, the blade is non-reflective and gains some corrosion resistance.
Handle: A simple, thick and durable polypropylene handle wraps the tang of the blade and gives a solid grip thanks to the molded micro-texture. A generous hole is provided for lanyard attachment, lending added security along with the bird’s beak pommel and pronounced forward guard.
Carries via a high quality black leather belt sheath.
1075 Carbon Steel: A simple carbon steel used by production and custom knife makers. Low wear resistance (edge retention) due to low carbide content. Good toughness at lower hardness and easy to sharpen to a fine edge. Good performance when properly heat treated. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
