The ESEE 5 fixed blade was designed by an Air Force SERE Instructor with the goal of being one of the best knives for aircraft survival, escape and evasion. The ESEE 5 is made of “bomb-proof”, 1/4″ thick 1095 tool steel with a full tang construction and durable powder coat finish and has been upgraded with ESEE’s new 3D machined handle scales for enhanced ergonomics. Blade: The 1/4 inch thick, saber ground drop point blade delivers the ultimate blend of durability and chopping power in a compact package. Powder coated for a durable, corrosion resistant and non-reflective finish the 1095 carbon steel blade takes a razor sharp edge with ease and is easy to maintain in the field. If you are looking for tough as nails durability to handle the most extreme situations the ESEE 5 is a solid choice. Brand, model and steel markings are laser etched on the front of the blade.

Handle: A full tang construction supports ESEE’s new 3D machined handles in Blood Red/Black G10. Contoured to fill the hand, the 3D scales are comfortable during prolonged use while offering excellent traction in wet and dry conditions thanks to the milled texture. An exposed portion of the tang at the pommel has a machined point that can be used as a striking tool for breaking through glass and Plexiglas and is equipped with a hole for lanyard attachment.

Carries via a custom molded Kydex sheath with drop plate.

1095 High Carbon Steel: Highly popular, simple carbon steel. Used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but offers good toughness and is easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
