LionSteel B40 Bushcraft Green Micarta Sleipner Steel Fixed Blade

The B40 from LionSteel is a purpose built, Bushcraft fixed blade which delivers the peerless LionSteel fit and finish in an outdoor and woodcraft specific design. This knife has an extremely ergonomic handle with 3D machined handle scales. Built for performance this version has a stonewashed Sleipner Tool Steel blade and Green Canvas Micarta handles.

Blade: The LionSteel B40 has a high saber ground spear point blade of Sleipner tool steel. The blade is stonewash finished hides wear from heavy use that this knife is sure to see. Unlike Scandinavian Bushcraft knives the B40 has a secondary bevel which gives the edge more durability for utility use and makes maintaining the edge easier for users. As with all LionSteel knives the B40 sports a classy crowned spine that is comfortable on the thumb when adding pressure to the blade.

Handle: The full tang of the blade runs through the handle for optimal durability. The spine of the tang is crowned just like the blade for added comfort when paired with the 3D machined and contoured Green Canvas Micarta handle scales. The handle is neutral in design for a full and comfortable feel in nearly all grip positions. The scales are attached with matte gray stainless hardware for a secure fit that still allows for removal of the scales for cleaning and maintaining the knife. An exposed pommel end is equipped with a generous hole for lanyard attachment.

Sheath: Carries via a hand stitched, high quality leather belt sheath with click-secured friction fit.

Sleipner Tool Steel: is a cold work tool steel from Bohler-Uddeholm with an attainable hardness of 60-64 Hrc. This modification of the classic AISI D2 tool steel, Sleipner has improved toughness compared to D2 with good wear and chipping resistance. Lionsteel has had better edge holding performance compared to M390.
