The T5 from LionSteel is a more compact version of the massive M7 fixed blade field knife. Also made from Niolox Steel, this knife has an extremely ergonomic handle with 3D machined handle monolithic scales and a robust, high-height saber grind for exceptional strength and cutting performance. Niolox performs like an upgraded D2 with high corrosion resistance and wear resistance for extended edge holding. This model comes with super tough, monolithic green canvas Micarta handles and a heavy duty, MOLLE compatible, Italian leather sheath.
Brand new, direct from LionSteel of Italy.
Blade: The LionSteel T5 has a high-height, saber ground, drop point blade with a nearly full length swedge giving it an excellent combination of cutting performance, strength, and piercing capability. Niolox is highly wear and corrosion resistant and with a 5 mm thick blade stock this knife performs optimally as a multi-purpose field knife. This version has a satin finish and the edge is razor sharp out of the box.
Handle: Extremely comfortable and ergonomic, the handle of the T5 will provide a solid platform for hours of work. It has well contoured, 3D machined, monolithic green canvas Micarta handle is attached via torx screws for easy cleaning and maintenance. A single lanyard hole is drilled through the rear of the handle for additional security in use and carry. A rear portion of the tang is exposed for use in hard use, non-cutting tasks.
Carries via a heavy duty, double stitched, black Italian leather with belt loop and MOLLE webbing.
Niolox: Lohmann Niolox is a stain resistant tool steel with good edge holding and decent toughness. Even without being a particle metallurgy steel Niolox is a very fine-grained steel, which is a positive and aids with edge stability. Performance will be comparable to AISI D2 in terms of wear resistance with better edge stability.
