Brand new directly from Smith & Sons.
Blade:Ā Full tang, CPM D2 tool steel comes in a slim clip point profile that is refined for detail work, every day tasks or for use as a bird and trout knife. CPM D2 is reasonably tough and highly wear resistant, providing great edge retention in this fully flat ground blade. The blade sports the Smith & Sons āOriginal Patinaā finish on the flats and satin on the spine. A subtle taper to the point leaves plenty of durability while offering great piercing performance.
Handle: Securely attached with flared brass pins to the full tang, handsome Richlite composite handle scales come shaped and contoured for optimal comfortable and versatility. A subtle index finger cutout offers added security with an attached leather lanyard for added real estate and easy draw.
Sheath:Ā Carries via a brown leather belt sheath.
CPM-D2:Ā Standard ingot D2 has been used since WW II and is a semi-stainless tool steel with good corrosion resistance and edge retention. CPM-D2 is cleaner, with a more refined grain structure and significantly better strength and toughness compared to ordinary D2.
Richlite Paper Composite:Ā Richlite is a durable, versatile, and sustainable material made from resin-infused paper considered a premium surface material in aerospace, architecture, and design. Layers of high-quality custom craft paper create a unique surface texture from the natural variation in the paper fibers. Richliteās color comes from a combination of the paper and amber toned resin and has a composition of approximately 65% FSCĀ®-certified or recycled paper content and 35% phenolic resin.
