Smith & Sons has partnered up with Maserin Cutlery of Maniago, Italy to create another modern classic in the Ox liner lock folder. Stout and hardworking, the Ox is a precision made modern interpretation of the timeless sodbuster pattern. Upgrades include one-handed operation, liner lock construction, pocket clip carry and modern composite scales. This version comes with a D2 tool steel blade, gray G10 handle scales and red accents.
Brand new, direct from Smith & Sons Knife Co.
Blade: Made from flat ground from D2 tool steel, the classic bull nose skinner blade of the sodbuster offers a robust tip and plenty of cutting edge to tackle your daily utility work. Dual anodized thumb studs and solid phosphor bronze washers deliver smooth, snappy operation. A light tumbled finish hides wear from use while providing a visually appealing look.
Handle: Contoured G10 composite handle scales rest over inset stainless steel liners for a solid handle that is comfortable, durable and weather resistant. The scales have been matte finished for a classy look and good traction enhanced by jimping on the exposed liners near the pivot. A partial aluminum back spacer is anodized to match the thumb studs and milled with a generous hole for lanyard attachment. Smooth and solid, the steel liner lock offers ease of operation and safety in use.
Carries via a right hand, tip-up, stainless steel pocket clip.
D2 Tool Steel: D2 is a cold work tool steel that has been used as a die cutting steel since WW II. D2 has a high chromium content for a tool steel (10-13%) which gives it greater corrosion resistance than most high carbon steels making it semi-stainless. D2 offers a good combination of toughness, corrosion resistance and wear resistance for a good all around knife steel.
